One of the company's latest releases is America's Dairyland: The Undermining of 14,000 Wisconsin Dairy Farms, a fictionalized telling of an immigrant success story, a multigenerational business, and the collapse of an industry. The story opens with German immigrant Herman Lenz starting a Wisconsin dairy farm in 1880 and follows his descendants as they continuously grow the family business.

The Lenz family is eventually caught up in the demise of Wisconsin’s dairy industry, becoming one of the 14,000 dairy farms across the state that was forced into failure from 1990 to 2006. The new novel explores both the how and why of the disintegration of both the Lenz dairy farm and thousands more across the state.

America’s Dairyland is one of nine novels that Insights on Innovation has released. The publisher’s 2022 printing was M.A.D. Scientists: A Love Story - a STEM-based novel that follows the romance of scientists Viola and Otto Schmitt as they fight to help the Allies defeat the Axis in World War II.

In addition to publishing its own novels, Insights on Innovation has curated a reading list of what the company believes to be the best science-based historical books for high school students. These include stories about leading female astronomers and inspiring inventors.

"With the American Psychological Association reporting that the number of twelfth-graders who did not read a single book for pleasure in the previous year has approximately tripled since the 1970s, American high school students have a need for compelling fiction," a spokesperson for Insights on Innovation said.

Insights on Innovation is a publisher of stem-based historical fiction influenced by hidden stories of the most influential male and female scientists in American history. The company’s catalog focuses on stories of perseverance for both individuals and the good of society as a whole.
