Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi is celebrating a "substantial completion" milestone
(PRUnderground) October 16th, 2023
The second campus of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital’s located in Lehi, Utah recently celebrated a major construction milestone: substantial completion of the Outpatient Center. Utah County where Lehi is located is one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation. Nearly one-third of Primary’s patients come from Utah County and South Salt Lake County. With this growth comes an urgent need for high-quality, comprehensive pediatric care.
The Outpatient Center at the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi will be where patients will receive expert therapies, cancer infusions, behavioral health services, and other specialty care. It will offer 30 pediatric specialty clinics, including an interactive and state-of-the-art physical therapy gym, where crews are installing high-tech specialty mobility devices, an obstacle course kids can use without fear of falling or injury, and a zip line.
“While not yet open to the public, we didn’t want to wait to share this exciting construction update that brings us a little closer to helping patients and families in the rapidly-growing southern Salt Lake and Utah counties,” said Lisa Paletta, RN, president of the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital Miller Family Campus.
“The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus and its state-of-the-art facilities are on target to open to patients in the first quarter of 2024,” Paletta added. “None of this would have been possible without generous community support of Primary Promise, which forwards our work to keep the ‘Child First and Always’ and bring specialty care closer to home for many families.”
The Outpatient Center will include:
The Miller Family Campus is part of Intermountain’s Primary Promise to build the nation’s model health system for children by strengthening Primary Children’s Hospital, extending pediatric excellence with care closer to home, and addressing emerging needs of a growing pediatric population.
Primary Promise is a transformative, multi-faceted plan and investment of at least $600 million in children’s health, shared by Intermountain Health and community philanthropic support.
“We’re setting the bar for what’s possible in children’s health, here and across the nation, by building a model health system that meets the needs of children today and generations to come,” said Katy Welkie, chief executive officer of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital and vice president of Intermountain Children’s Health. “The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus is a key part of this unprecedented endeavor to support healthier children.”
The 38-acre Miller Family Campus, the first comprehensive children’s hospital and outpatient services provided to be provided in Utah County, will offer nearly all of the same world-class specialty pediatric services patients receive at the Salt Lake City Primary Children’s campus.
It includes the Outpatient Center and a five-story, 66-bed, 486,000-square-foot Primary Children’s Hospital, where medical staff will be fully integrated with the expert clinicians at the Salt Lake hospital campus.
Hospital services will include:
Hiring at the facility continues, and is expected to span close to 1,000 jobs.
